Hilingo is free to download on both the App Store and Google Play. Some features are offered through optional in-app purchases, which are described in our Terms and Conditions. You do not need to pay to create an account and start practising.

Hilingo runs on iPhone and iPad via the App Store, and on Android phones and tablets via Google Play. You need a microphone and an internet connection to hold voice conversations with the AI.

No. Hilingo is built for practising on your own — the AI plays the role of the conversation partner, so you can speak at any hour without scheduling a lesson. Many learners use it alongside classes to get more speaking time between them.

Hilingo requests microphone access only for voice calls with the AI chatbot, and you can refuse or disable that permission at any time. Voice calls are stored temporarily and deleted from our servers within 24 hours after transcription. You can also opt out of having your data used for service improvement or AI model training by contacting support@hilingoapp.com.

Yes. Hilingo is not available to anyone under 16 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. Users under 18 need consent from a parent or legal guardian.

Flashcard and quiz apps mainly train recognition — reading, tapping and multiple choice. Hilingo trains production: you speak full sentences out loud and reply in real time. The two work well together, but only spoken practice builds the recall speed and confidence that real conversation needs.
